24 January 2010 - "Marriage is honourable in all" - Wedding of Mzikayifani and Bongangani

(photos to follow soon)

Summary of sermon by Rev Erlo Stegen

Hebrews 13:4-6,
"4 Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me."

Marriage should be honoured by all. We live in a time where it is pitch black with regards to marriage.

These days it is like cat and dog in marriages, divorce, mutual hatred. God said that only death should separate married couples, except in the case of adultary by one of the partners.

God wants man's life to be pure, and the marriage bed pure and undefiled.

Things are so rotten that even school boys write to girls love letters and flirt with them. These children are still dependent on their parents but they want to get involved in things not meant for them. Those troubled by lust should be prayed for to be freed from it.

Studies have shown that pornography causes the same structural damage to the brain that drugs do. When you who look at pornography on TV, the internet, news papers or magazines, you are doing physical, structural damage to your brain.

Many young girls get married in a white veil, but it is a lie, for she had been touched and flirted with and her true clothes are full of blood stains.

Remember, God takes thoughts as deeds and you might think that you are pure, yet before God your thoughts are so defiled that you are an adulterer and your clothes stained.

Similarly, those of you who keep your garments clean, even if you are not clothed outwardly in royal robes, yet before God your garments are white and will be so even when you appear before Him. Why? Because you have washed your robes and made them white in the Blood of the Lamb (Rev 7:14).

Walk here on earth as a citizen of Heaven and you won't be ashamed on your death bed and also not when you stand before God at the Judgement.

This is the Word of God and not of KwaSizabantu or the Lutherans or any church. "Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge."

You can do as you like, commit adultery, flirt around while unmarried and you won't get into big trouble in this world. But know that you will still have to stand before the Judge of judges and He said that He will judge those who defile the marriage bed. Jesus said that if you looked at a woman and desired her you have committed adultary already - it is as if you have already done the deed. By doing that you are burying your wife while she is alive.

Marriage life should be honoured and respected by all, even the unmarried, because God will judge those who do not honour it.

There is also another kind of immorality, where some have sexual intercourse in a way that will not damage their physical virginity. That is immoral before God.

You even get homosexuals these days, where the "girl friend" of this man is another man who behaves like a woman. So too there is lesbianism where two woman come together and the one takes the role of a man. That is perverse and God will judge such. God will judge the sexually immoral.

The only way to get true freedom from your sexual immorality is to bring it to the light in deep repentance (see Ps 51), and to be washed from your filth in the Blood of the Lamb (Rev 7:14).
