  • Aids in Africa Currently 25 million Africans are infected with HIV. UNAIDS estimates that the infection rate will peak at 25 – 30% of the population within the next ten years. More than 8 million children have already been orphaned in sub-Saharan Africa and it is likely that the disease will produce 3 million orphans over the next year.
  • A Plan Already in Place  The JIREH project stems from a vision of concerned Christian volunteers from various countries to join hands in caring for AIDS orphans. Our aim is to not only house, feed and clothe them, but to raise a new generation according to Christian values, resulting in a lifestyle and moral outlook that precludes AIDS, crime and prostitution.
  • Aids Statistics in South Africa   22,4% of all pregnant women who visited ante-natal clinics in South Africa during 1999 were HIV+. 200 HIV+ babies are born every day in South Africa. 32,8% of KZN’s pregnant women were HIV+ during 1999
